THE OTAGO WITNESS
1 Oct 1859
The Snaresbrook and the Matoaka, both from
London, arrived at Wellington, the former on the
7th, and the latter, with about 90 passengers, on the
13th instant. The captain and mate of the Snares-
brook have been committed for trial on a charge of
wilful murder, for their inhuman treatment during
the voyage to Wellington of an apprentice named
